Your Personal Fitness Club
Build Your ThriveLife

Reading time: about 4 minutes
Hey Brothers,
I’m Len. Welcome back to the LenDentonThrive Letter.
I started this newsletter more than two years ago with one specific goal in mind - to help guys THRIVE by creating their personal health and fitness success.
Knowing how difficult it is for so many of us to achieve the fitness outcomes we need, I also wanted to share some of the successful strategies I discovered on my personal fitness journey.
I call this approach The ThriveLife. It fits my needs, my preferences and my abilities. And unlike most one-size-fits-all gym-based approaches I had tried in the past, I was able to stick to it without burn-out or injury.
The ThriveLife is like owning my own personal fitness club.
This personal fitness club helped me lose 70 pounds in only 7 months. I got leaner and stronger as my weight dropped and my waist size went from 40 to 32.
People started asking what I was up to!
This personal fitness club featured effective work-outs, flexible schedules and global access (I was travelling a lot back in those days).
There were a few things my personal fitness club didn’t have:
…no crazy diets
…no killer workouts
…no protein shakes or smoothies
…no pills
…no injections
…no over-priced, under-used gym memberships
My personal fitness club focused on smart food choices instead of exhaustive exercise. It’s called a food-first, gym-optional approach.
And it works!
I’ve now been a happy member of this club for more than 11 years! I’ve shared this strategy with dozens of other guys who’ve experienced similar results.
And, it can work for you, too.
Here are a few tips to consider as you launch your own personal fitness club
1 - Start Where You Are
The best time to get healthy was 5 years ago. The second best time is today! A pair of comfortable walking shoes and this newsletter are all you need to get started.
So, let’s get started!
2 - Know Your “Why”
Consider the reason that you’re making this change. The greater your WHY, the greater your motivation will be to see it through. This matters on those cold, rainy days when you’d rather stay in bed. At times like these, your WHY is your igniter.
3 - Start Small
The ThriveLife has an easy on-ramp.
Ignore the advice to “go big, or go home.” That language sounds good, but usually sets you up for disappointment and failure. The prize is sustainable fitness, not short-term gains.
Don’t build your program on things you wanted to do in your 20s. Build it on things you can do for the rest of your life.
4 - Read This Plan
I’ve written a quick, easy to read plan designed to show you how to implement the ThriveLife on your own terms over a 30-day period, in 30 minutes or less per day. You can read the plan here.
I’ve also written more on how to make food to work for you here.
5 - Send Me The Pics
Finally, send me your before and after pictures so we can all celebrate your success!
You’re gonna look and feel great!
6 - Bonus
Best of all, you can add other members to your personal fitness club. I suggest your spouse, your kids and close friends. The more, the better. Spread the THRIVE!
You got this!
Smarter, not harder!
Thanks for reading this week!
