The Gift Of Health

Enabling Your Fitness Transformation

Reading Time: 5 Minutes

It’s Christmas time again! It’s my favorite time of the year! The lights, the festivities, the food, the presents, the hustle and bustle…I love it all!

For me, one of the most challenging parts of Christmas has always been finding the right gifts for the people closest to me: my wife, my kids, and my grandkids.

Perhaps you can relate to this as well.

But this year, I have the perfect gift idea for you to give to those you love.

I suggest that you give them the gift of health. More specifically, your health!

The Gift of Health

The greatest gift you can give your family and close friends is YOU!

They don’t need more stuff! They need more of you!

They need a fitter, healthier version of you that’s focused on living a longer and healthier life with them!

It’s the gift that will keep giving for years to come!

Is Your Gift Out-Of-Stock?

Lots of 50-Plus Guys will assume that this gift of better health and longevity will be out-of-stock for them this season. That’s because most of us aren’t focused on our health and fitness. We’re typically focused on our family and work responsibilities.

I talk to a lot of 50-Plus Guys, and here’s what they tell me:

  • They don’t think they have the time it takes to get into shape and better health.

  • Some guys tell me that they’re not interested in spending hours per week at the gym.

  • Some guys tell me that they’ve tried the trendy diets, and they didn’t work.

I get it!

A few years ago, at age 55, I was an overweight workaholic heading toward becoming a cardiac statistic! I was 70 pounds overweight, and my cholesterol was through the roof!

At a routine check-up (just days before Christmas in 2013), my doctor told me that I was a poster child for a heart attack or stroke!

He really got my attention… because I had lost both my dad and my younger brother to fatal heart attacks… in their 30s!

I knew I needed a drastic change if I didn’t want to follow my dad and brother down their tragic paths. That’s when I decided that I was going to do whatever it took to become healthier and more fit.

It was like deciding to give my family the gift of health!

My Christmas Gift To You

On January 1, 2014, I got busy. And by July 4th, I had lost 70 pounds! My cholesterol was down 60 points. I felt more vigorous and energetic than I’d been in years. My doctor was surprised by the rapid changes.

Best of all, I accomplished this radical improvement without going on a drastic diet or spending hours in the gym. (I actually didn’t step into the gym once!) And, there were no pills, injections, protein shakes, or kale smoothies!

I changed my eating habits and I started exercising daily. These smart daily practices helped me to get lighter, leaner, and stronger.

I had to buy new clothes to fit my slimmer frame. Friends started to ask me what I was up to.  It was an awesome feeling!

Now, ten years later, I’m still at my goal weight. The approach that helped me become healthy has kept me healthy.

I call this approach my ThriveLife. It's a healthy lifestyle built on a few simple, but effective daily practices that will help you lose weight, get fit and stay fit for life.
