My ThriveLife Transformation Story

A Path to Forever Fitness

Reading Time: 4 Minutes

Hey Brothers,

I’m Len. Welcome back to the LenDentonThrive Letter, where the focus is on helping men build thriving lives across all zones of their lives: Body, Soul (mind), Spirit and Treasure.

In this week’s edition of the LDT Letter, I’m sharing my own ThriveLife transformation story. (This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, ThriveLife Transformation.)

Transformation

My ThriveLife transformation began in late 2013.

This was me in December 2013. I was a 55-year-old workaholic with a nice job and a nice title at a nice Fortune 100 company. It was a nice life.

It was also a stressful life. Work was demanding, allowing little time for hobbies or working out. I was also 70 pounds overweight, the heaviest I’d ever been.

From an external point of view, everything was going really well. But, that all changed in one afternoon with a visit to my doctor for my annual check-up.

After reviewing my lab tests, he told me that I was “a poster child for a heart attack or stroke!” He explained that I was at least 40 pounds overweight and my cholesterol was “through the roof.

His words hit me like a ton of bricks! That’s because I had lost both my dad and my younger brother to fatal heart attacks in their 30s!

My dad’s death was a disaster for our family. It left us in a financial hole that my mom was never able to climb out of.

My doctor’s words were life-changing!

I knew that I had to make a change so I would be able to be there for my family. At that moment, “being there” became my reason WHY!

Now, fast forward 7 months!

This is me in July 2014. I’m the same workaholic, now 56 years old, with the same nice job at the same nice company.

Except now I’m 70 pounds lighter! My cholesterol’s down 60 points and my energy level is through the roof!

And, I’m feeling better than I have since my early 40s. Every day, someone asks me: “What’s going on with you? What are you doing to make these changes?”

Now, flash forward 11 years!

This is me today, at age 67. I’ve now entered the post-corporate phase of my career. But, I’m still busy running my tech consulting business and writing about attainable health and fitness.

And, I’m still at my goal weight! My energy levels are still through the roof. I’m stronger and leaner than I was in 2014.

My transformation from poster child and potential cardiac statistic to a healthy and vigorous Over-60 Guy is all due to the system that I now call my ThriveLife.

My ThriveLife has helped me achieve sustainable health and fitness without the need for crazy diets or grueling workouts. There has been no hunger and no dread. And, I’ve been injury-free for 11 years!

Why Listen To Me?

You might be asking yourself: “Why should I listen to a 67 year-old-guy about fitness?

That’s a legitimate question. So here are 3 reasons why I think any guy who’s looking to improve their health and fitness levels should consider listening to me:

1. The ThriveLife is built on real science, not hype. There are no crazy diets; no killer workouts; no cleanses or kale smoothies. Just real science. You can read the research for yourself.

2. It’s sustainable. The ThriveLife is built on simple daily habits, not massive exertion or willpower.. It’s more about consistency than intensity. It’s built to become a lifestyle, not a project. I’ve been doing this for 11 years now, and I plan to do it forever. This is my path to forever fitness.

3. It works. I lost 70 pounds in 7 months using the same ThriveLife principles I share in this newsletter. And 11 years later, I’m still at my goal weight.

Stay Tuned

I’ve been writing about the ThriveLife in this weekly newsletter for more than 2 years. Now, in my upcoming new book, The ThriveLife Transformation, I’ll share the step-by-step process you can follow to create your own version of the ThriveLife. A version that fits your specific needs and preferences. Stay tuned for more info on its release.

I hope you’ll join me on the ThriveLife Journey! It could become your path to forever fitness!

Thanks for reading today!

And remember... God loves us. He wants us to thrive. So, let's go!
