My Christmas Wish
Happy Holidays 2024
Reading Time: 3 Minutes
Christmas is just a few days away!
It’s my favorite time of the year. For my family, this is a happy and busy time of preparation and celebration…making sure that gifts are wrapped and ready; ensuring that the pantry is well-stocked with cookie-making supplies; hanging out with family and friends; and celebrating the birth of Christ.
I hope it's a happy time for you, too!
But, Christmas is also over-commercialized!
By now, I’m sure you’ve seen around 10,000 ads for Black Friday sales and countless other attempts to separate you from your money.
So, in today’s brief newsletter, I promise I’m not going to try to sell you anything! Instead, I’ll share with you a Christmas wish and three quick tips to help you thrive through the holidays!
My Christmas Wish
Brother, my wish for you is that you will have health and joy this Christmas season! That you will enjoy the fellowship of people who love you and care about you. And, that your light might shine brightly into the life of someone else this season.
3 Quick Tips
Now, here are 3 quick tips to help you thrive through the holiday season.
Tip #1: Maintain your healthy daily practices.
Keep doing your healthy daily practices throughout the holidays. For me, that includes:
Morning weigh-ins
Getting my 10-12,000 steps
Daily workouts
Moving hourly (250-300 steps)
It takes effort to build successful daily habits, so don’t take a vacation from them. It’s easier to maintain these habits than to rebuild them after the holidays. These healthy daily practices will also help you manage your weight as you enjoy holiday treats!
Tip #2: Enjoy…Within Reason
The holidays are a time to be festive and enjoy the foods of the season. However, I encourage you to enjoy in moderation. I’ve developed a concept I call Feasting Days that helps me to enjoy within reason. You can read about it here.
Tip #3: Rest!
The holidays can be a hectic time for us. But, it can also be a time for us to take a break from our normal schedules and routines to let our minds and bodies rest. I hope you’ll take some time to rest.
And, while you rest, give some thought to how you want to improve your health in 2025.
Next week, I’ll share how I’ll be helping busy 50+ Guys Thrive in 2025! But, that’s for next week.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
