LenDentonThrive Letter #47

Welcome to the LenDentonThrive Letter!

I’m on a mission to help Guys over 50 to build thriving, healthy lifestyles. I call it the ThriveLife!

In this week’s newsletter, I’m launching a small experiment. This edition will be the Express version of the newsletter - shorter, more focused, and quicker to read. I’d love to hear what you think about the experimental format. Just hit REPLY and let me know what you think.

Choose Progress Over Perfection

Are you an Over-50 Guy who knows it’s time to lose some weight, or work on improving your health? Maybe it’s something that your doctor recommended, or you just know that you need to take action. Whatever the reason, NOW is the time!

So, the next question is HOW? How am I going to do this?

There are lots of options. You could join a gym or Crossfit class. You could go onto social media where you’ll find hundreds of fitness gurus, all offering their path to fitness.

In most of these settings, The Guy who’s doing the talking is going to look like a fitness model. You know the type - big muscles, trim waist and probably talking with his shirt off.

At this point, you may be asking yourself: “How could I ever do what this fitness guy is telling me to do?

I have personally been there. And, I know that it can be so intimidating that you ultimately decide to do nothing.

Its at this point that I’d like to share 3 things with you.

First, you are looking at the end, not the beginning, of the process. These guys took years to achieve the level of fitness you are seeing today.

Second, a lot of these guys are fitness professionals. They earn their living through their fitness activities (either on-line or training at the gym).

And third, you aren’t competing with any of those guys. You are competing with who YOU were 30 days ago.

Becoming more fit isn’t about grueling workouts or crazy, restrictive diets. It’s about cleaning up your eating habits and finding exercise that you consistently enjoy.

If you’re not sure where to begin, check out my Too-Busy Guy’s Guide to Health and Fitness. I’ll show you how to lose weight and get more fit by eating smarter and moving smarter.

Don’t seek perfection. Seek progress.

Smarter, not harder.

See you next week.
